Their main objective is to deal with common issues of the Japanese spring industry and to share the information among member companies. JSMA takes part in development and revision of Japan Spring Manufacturers Association standards (JSMA standards) and Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS standards) as the official organization in-charge of standardization of springs. The association also undertakes the secretariat of International Standards (ISO standards) on springs as the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee (JISC) member.
